Lucius Caesius, 112-111 BC. Denarius (Silver, 21 mm, 3.86 g, 12 h), Rome. Draped bust of Apollo Vejovis to left, seen from behind, hurling thunderbolt with his right hand; behind, monogram of ROMA. Rev. L•C AE SI Two Lares seated right, each holding long staff in his left hand; between them, a dog; above, head of Vulcan to left with tongs behind. Babelon (Caesia) 1. Crawford 298/1. RBW 1140 and Sydenham 564. A lightly toned example with a beautiful obverse. Minor nicks, otherwise, good very fine.
