LOCAL ISSUES, Türgesh Kaghans of Semirech'e. Anonymous, circa 704-766. Cash (Bronze, 27 mm, 9.41 g). ‘βγy twrkyš xʾγʾn pny’, i.e. ‘βaγ-ē Turgeš xāγān pan-i’ (‘Coin of the Lord Türgesh-Kaghan’ in Sogdian). Rev. Large semi-circular tamgha of Türgesh, an M-like runic symbol, and the word ‘mʾx’, i.e. ‘māx’ (‘moon’ in Sogian). Lurje 679. Smirnova 1588. Some weakness and cleaning scratches, otherwise, good fine.
