Description

INDIA, Post-Mauryan (Kurapurika in the Narmada Valley). Circa 200 BC. AE (Bronze, 25 mm, 5.83 g). KURAPURIKA(SA) (in Brahmi) Tiger standing right; before, tree in railing; behind, uncertain symbol. Rev. Large circle with four taurines attached to it. P. P. Kulkarni: Coins of Kurapurika, a forgotten City State of Narmada Valley, in: Journal of Academy of Indian Numismatics and Sigilography. Vol. XIX-XX ( 2005), pp. 21-27. Extremely rare. Areas of weakness and with minor corrosion, otherwise, about very fine.
