★ Very rare date on the countermark ★
ISLAMIC, Persia (Post-Mongol). Qara Qoyunlu. Jahan Shah, AH 837-872 / AD 1434-1467. Dirham (Silver, 18 mm, 1.28 g), Tabriz, AH 866 = AD 1461/2. Countermark of 'Tabriz / 866' on the obverse of a post-ilkhanid Dirham. Rev. Blank with traces of legend (?). Album 2494. Very rare date on the countermark, earlier than the usual dates AH 868-AH 872. Light scratches, otherwise, very fine.
