P. Plautius Hypsaeus, 57 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.91 g, 3 h), Rome. P•VPSAE / S•C Draped bust of Leuconoë to right; behind, small dolphin swimming right. Rev. C•VPSAE•COS / PRIV / CEPIT Jupiter in quadriga to left, holding reins in his left hand and hurling thunderbolt with his right. Babelon (Plautia) 12. Crawford 420/2a. RBW 1515. Sydenham 911. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.
