Description

INDIA, Post-Mauryan (Punjab). Kunindas. Amoghabuti, circa 150-80 BC. AE (Bronze, 17 mm, 1.93 g). Deer standing right with raised head; to right, goddess Lakshmi standing front, holding long-stemmed lotus in her right hand and placing her left on her hip. Rev. Six-arched hill in center flanked by tree in railing and Indra-Dhavaja; above, nandipada; below, river. MAC 4451-64. Light deposits, otherwise, very fine.

From the collection of Prof. Dr. Björn-Uwe Abels, privately acquired from Münzenhandlung Ulrike Müller in Villingen in 1978.
