Elagabalus, 218-222. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.08 g, 12 h), Rome, 219. IMP CAES M AVR ANTONINVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus to right, seen from behind. Rev. P M TR P II COS II P P Roma seated left on throne, holding Victory in her right hand and long scepter with her left; at her side, shield. BMC 88 note. Cohen -. Eauze 241 (one example recorded). RIC -, cf. 13 (bust draped only). Thirion -. An extremely rare variety. Good very fine.
