Description

T. Didius, 113-112 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.67 g, 6 h), Rome. Head of Roma to right, wearing crested and winged helmet; behind, monogram of ROMA. Rev. T•DEIDI Two gladiators fighting, each holding shield, the one on the left attacks with a flail, the other with a staff or sword. Babelon (Didia) 2. Crawford 294/1. RBW 1134. Sydenham 550. Rough surfaces and with some deposits, otherwise, about very fine.

From an American collection of Roman Republican and Imperatorial coins (with collector's ticket).
