KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 4.19 g, 12 h), Magnesia ad Maeandrum, struck by Antigonos I Monophtalmos, circa 318-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. [A]ΛEΞANΔPO[Y] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram of ΣΩ; below throne, monogram of AT. Price 1970. Minor pitting, otherwise, very fine.
