ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 148-90/80 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.68 g, 12 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing tainia and wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. [HΡ]AKΛEOΥΣ - ΣΩTHΡOΣ / ΘAΣIΩN Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club in his right hand and with lion's skin draped over his left arm; in inner left field, monogram. HGC 6, 359. Prokopov 1414. Nicely toned and of attractive style. Minor marks and with light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
