★ Boldly struck in high relief ★

KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.06 g, 11 h), Babylon, struck under Seleukos I, circa 311-300 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram of HYP within wreath; below throne, H. Price 3704. Boldly struck in high relief. Minor scuff on the reverse , otherwise, extremely fine.
