ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. al-Hadi, AH 169-170 / AD 785-786. Dirham (Silver, 24 mm, 2.84 g, 11 h), citing Ibrahim and Jarir and the future caliph Harun al-Rashid as ibn Amir al-Mu'minin ('son of the Commander of the Faithful' in Kufic), al-Haruniya (Armenia), AH 170 = AD 786/7. SICA III, 2046. Very rare. Light scratch on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

This interesting issue from the short reign of Al-Hadi mentions his younger brother and future successor, Harun al-Rashid.
