★ An extremely rare issue with a signifer carrying a signum surmounted by Victory ★

Gallienus, 253-268. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 21 mm, 2.42 g, 1 h), Rome, 262. GALLIENVS AVG Radiate head of Gallienus to right. Rev. FIDES MILITVM Signifer advancing right in military attire, carrying signum surmounted by Victory, holding wreath in her raised right hand. Cohen 248. MIR 522m (3 examples). RIC -. Extremely rare. An exceptionally attractive example of this highly unusual and interesting issue. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die and with thin flan cracks, otherwise, about extremely fine.
