KINGS OF LYDIA. Alyattes to Kroisos, circa 610-546 BC. Hemihekte – 1/12 Stater (Subargentum, 7 mm, 0.82 g), a contemporary plated imitation. Head of a lion with sun and rays on its forehead to right. Rev. Incuse square punch. Cf. Rosen 654, SNG von Aulock 2871 and Weidauer 90 (for prototype). A carefully produced and well struck contemporary plated imitation. Some marks, otherwise, good very fine.

From a European collection, acquired before 2021.

The weight of this piece is too low for a 1/12 stater, and while it does not show any signs of plating, it is probably a well-made contemporary imitation.
