★ Beautifully toned and with a fine pedigree ★

SICILY. Leontini. Circa 476-466 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 17.00 g, 1 h). Charioteer driving quadriga walking to right, holding goad in his right hand and reins in his left; above, Nike flying right to crown the horses. Rev. ΛEO-N-TI-N-ON Head of a roaring lion to right; around, four grains of barley. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte, 22 ( same dies ). HGC 2, 662. SNG ANS -. Beautifully toned and with a fine pedigree. Some scratches, otherwise, very fine.
