CENTRAL GAUL. Pictones. Mid 1st century BC. Quinarius (Silver, 15 mm, 1.83 g, 12 h), Duratios, king (?). DVRA[T] Diademed head to left. Rev. IVLIO[S] Horse springing left; above, tristyle temple. DT 3687. LT 4478. Nicely toned and attractive. Light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.

The Duratios mentioned on this coin may well be the king of the Pictones who allied with Julius Caesar during the latter's conquest of Gaul.
