ATTICA. Athens. Circa 475-465 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 17.20 g, 5 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. AΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1595. Starr Group IV. Svoronos pl. 9, 7-12. An excellent piece of beautiful late Archaic style. Tiny test cut on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
