★ A beautiful stater from Larissa ★
THESSALY. Larissa. Circa 356-342 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 12.22 g, 12 h). Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly to left, wearing ampyx, pendant earring and necklace. Rev. ΛΑΡΙ-Σ/ΑΙΩΝ Bridled horse walking to right; to right, M. BCD Thessaly I 1160 ( same obverse die ). BCD Thessaly II 310 ( same dies ) Lorber, Facing, pl. 5, 66 ( same dies ). Lightly toned and of particularly fine style. Struck from the usual slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, about extremely fine.
