KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.15 g, 3 h), Uranopolis (or Amphipolis), struck under Alexarchos, circa 310-297 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle with closed wings in right; to left, X on star on cone; below throne, wreath. Price 511. An attractive example of fine style. Minor marks , otherwise, good very fine.
