TAURIC CHERSONESOS. Chersonesos. AE (Bronze, 23 mm, 6.94 g, 7 h), circa 211-217. ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΑC Draped bust of Chersonas (with the features of Caracalla?) to right, wearing laurel wreath; to right, lyre. Rev. ΧΕΡCONHCOY Artemis Parthenos standing facing, head to right, holding bow and arrow in her left hand and hurling javelin with her right; at her feet to left, stag springing left, head right. SNG Moskau 4068-73. An attractive example of this lovely Severan issue. Very fine.
