CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS. Pantikapaion. Circa 470-460 BC. Tetartemorion (Silver, 7 mm, 0.24 g). Facing head of a lion. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square with pellets in two opposite quarters. Frolova Type IV. HGC 7, 53. MacDonald 5/2. SNG BM Black Sea -. SNG Stancomb 514. Rare. An exceptionally attractive piece, beautifully toned and very sharply struck. Extremely fine.
