Forces of Galba in Spain. In the name of Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.71 g, 8 h), uncertain mint in Spain. Group A.II, 3 April-2nd half of June 68. [CAES]AR AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Augustus to right. Rev. DIVVS - IVLIV[S] Sidus Iulium: eight-rayed comet with tail upwards. BMC 49. CG 146.7 ( this coin ). Cohen 98 (Augustan prototype). Martin A 10. Nicolas A8. RIC 92. Very rare. Slightly rough and with faint scratches, otherwise, very fine.

Group A.II of coins in the name of Augustus is characterized by portraits with long, straight noses and protruding heads, the necks of which are shown at a particularly steep angle. Another marker are the two small pellets appearing above the laurel wreaths. The coins are clearly connected to Group I and Group A.I in style and can thus also be assigned to Spain.
