★ Boldly struck and clear ★

LOWER DANUBE. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 15.82 g, 12 h). Celticized head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. Celticized Herakles standing front, head to right, holding club in his right hand and lion skin in his left; in inner left field, five dots; imitative legend around. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz -. Lukanc pl. 132, 1492. OTA Class III. Boldly struck and clear. Light doubling and with some minor marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
