★ Lightly toned and with a charming reverse ★

LOWER DANUBE. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.39 g, 11 h). Celticized head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. Celticized Herakles standing front, head to right, holding club in his left hand and lion skin in his right; in inner right field, X above =; imitative legend around. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz -. Lukanc -. OTA Class III/A. Lightly toned and with a charming reverse. Surface crack on the obverse and with some marks and nicks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
