KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.59 g, 3 h), Amphipolis, circa 340/36-328. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, grain ear. Le Rider -, cf. 17-18 (D7/-). SNG ANS 242. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
