Description

THESSALY. Larissa. Circa 400-380 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 6.06 g, 4 h). Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly to left, wearing hair band and necklace. Rev. ΛAPIΣAI Horse grazing left on ground line. BCD Thessaly I 1139 var. BCD Thessaly II 218 ( same dies ). Lorber 1992, 29.4 ( same dies ). Beautifully toned. The reverse slightly double struck, otherwise, good very fine.

From the collection of Yves Gunzenreiner, privately purchased from Münzhandlung Funk in 2002.
