★ Lustrous and attractive ★

ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. temp. Al-Amin, AH 193-198 / AD 809-813. Dirham (Silver, 23 mm, 2.99 g, 9 h), Bukhara, AH 194 = AD 809/810. Citing the vizier al-Fadl and al-Ma'mun, the brother of the caliph al-Amin, as 'al-Amir' ('Commander'), as Wali 'ahd al-Muslimin ('successor of the covenant of the Muslims' in Kufic) and as ibn Amir al-Mu'minin ('son of the Commander of the Faithful' in Kufic). SICA III, 498. Lustrous and very attractive. The flan slightly wavy and with a minor die break on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
