NORTHWEST GAUL. Carnutes. 2nd to early 1st century BC. Stater (Electrum, 19 mm, 7.26 g, 3 h), 'à la lyre inversée - à la joue ornée' type. Ceticized male head with curly hair and prominent chin to right. Rev. Celticized charioteer driving biga to right, holding kentron in his right hand and reins in his left; below the horses, inverted lyre. DT 2526. Flesche -. LT 5947. Nicely toned. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.
