PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Xerxes II to Artaxerxes II, circa 420-375 BC. Daric (Gold, 16 mm, 8.37 g), Lydo-Milesian standard, Sardes. Persian king or hero in kneeling/running stance to right, holding spear in his right hand and bow in his left. Rev. Irregular incuse. BMC Arabia pl. XXV, 12. Carradice Type IIIb, Group C and pl. XIV, 42. Boldly struck on a full flan and exceptionally fine style. Minor scrapes, otherwise, extremely fine.
