Description

★ Apparently unique with staurogram on the shoulder ★

Constantius II, as Caesar, 324-337. Follis (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.71 g, 12 h), Cyzicus, 331 and 333-334. FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C Laureate bust of Constantius II to right, seen from behind; wearing drapery decorated with a staurogram. Rev. GLORIA EXERCITVS / SMKΓ Two soldiers standing facing each other, each holding inverted spear in his outer hand and placing his inner hand on shield set on ground; between them, two signa. RIC -, cf. 84 (for draped and cuirassed bust without cross). Apparently unique with the staurogram on the shoulder. Somewhat rough, otherwise, about very fine.
