LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 24 mm, 7.42 g, 3 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with a griffin; behind neckguard, P. Rev. ΥEΛHTΩN Lion walking right; below, P. HN Italy 1284. Williams 265 (O153/R208). Nicely toned and struck on a broad flan. Slightly rough and with a die break on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
