★ An extremely rare variety ★

Constantine X Ducas, 1059-1067. 2/3 Miliaresion (Silver, 22 mm, 1.74 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. + ΘKЄ - ROHΘ The Virgin orans, nimbate, standing facing on footstool, wearing pallium and maphorium; in fields to left and right, monogram of MHP and ΘV above pellet. Rev. + ΘKЄ RO/HΘЄI KωN/CTANTINⲰ / ΔЄCΠOTH / TⲰ Δ૪KA in five lines; above and below, ornaments. DOC 6e. SB 1851. An extremely rare variety. Beautifully toned and unusually attractive. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die and with two thin flan cracks, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From a German collection of late Byzantine silver coins, formed in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
