Vespasian, 69-79. Dupondius (Copper, 27 mm, 12.77 g, 6 h), Rome, for use in Syria, 74. IMP CAESAR VESPASIAN AVG Laureate head of Vespasian to right. Rev. PON MAX TR POT P P COS V CENS• Winged caduceus between crossed cornucopiae. BMC 886 (attributed to the mint of Commagene). Cohen 376. RIC 756. RPC II 1982. Boldy struck and beautifully detailed. Somewhat smoothed and repatinated, otherwise, good very fine.
