Description

Divus Augustus, died AD 14. As (Copper, 28 mm, 8.94 g, 8 h), restitution issue, Rome. Struck under Titus, 80-81. DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER Radiate head of Divus Augustus to left. Rev. IMP•T•VESP•AVG•REST• / S - C Eagle standing facing on globe, wings spread and head to right. BMC 272. Cohen 551. Komnick 41.0. RIC 460. A lovely example with a magnificent green patina. Minor roughness on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
