★ A rare 'pedigree' tetradrachm of Eukratides I ★

BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Eukratides I, circa 170-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.48 g, 12 h), dynastic pedigree issue. Baktra, circa 162-145. BAΣIΛEYΣ MEΓAΣ / EΥKΡATIΔHΣ Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides to right, wearing Macedonian helmet adorned with bull's horn and ear. Rev. HΛIOΚΛHOYΣ / KAI ΛAOΔIKHΣ Jugate busts of Heliokles, bare-headed and draped, and Laodike, diademed and draped, to right; behind, monogram. Bopearachchi Série 13. HGC 12, 133. MIG 182b. Rare. A well struck example of this highly interesting issue. Slightly porous, otherwise, good very fine.
