★ A boldly struck tetradrachm of Seleukos I ★

SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.18 g, 4 h), Seleukeia on the Tigris II, circa 296/5-281. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΣEΛEΥKOΥ Athena, brandishing spear overhead in her right hand and holding shield in her left, standing right in quadriga of elephants moving to right; between shield and elephants, ΔΑ; above to right, anchor right. HGC 9, 18a. SC 130.14. Boldly struck and clear. The obverse struck slightly off center and with traces of overstriking on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
