Description

LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 432-420 BC. Diobol (Silver, 13 mm, 1.08 g, 8 h). Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress; below chin, Φ. Rev. HE Lion standing right, left forepaw raised. HN Italy 1358. Van Keuren 28. Darkly toned and sharply struck, an excellent example. Extremely fine.
