Description

CELTIC, Central Europe. Vindelici. 1st century BC. 1/4 Stater (Gold, 10 mm, 1.88 g), 'Vogelkopf' type. Head of a bird to right with large pellet above and below. Rev. Three pellets within torque with pellet at each end; all within shallow incuse. Dembski -. Flesche 311. Karl 257. LT -. SLM -. Extremely rare with head of the bird to right. Light marks and the obverse a bit weak, otherwise, very fine.

From a Swiss collection, formed over two generations.
