Description

★ A very rare stater from the Vindelici ★

CELTIC, Central Europe. Vindelici. 1st century BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 7.48 g). Celticized male head with curly hair to right. Rev. Two lyres and two grain ears arranged in a cross pattern; all within shallow incuse. Dembski -. Flesche 341. LT pl. XXIX, V, 23. SLM 1095. Very rare. Struck on an irregular flan with some flan faults, otherwise, very fine.

From a Swiss collection, formed over two generations and from the collection of T. Voltz, Auctiones 25, 19 June 1995, 1460.
