Description

CELTIC, Central Gaul. Bituriges Cubi. 2nd century BC. Stater (Gold, 22 mm, 7.69 g, 5 h), 'type de Mouliets'. Celticized laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. Celticized charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and kentron in his right; the horses' legs devolved into pellets; below, imitative legend. DT 3618. Kellner, Tayac, 93 ( same dies ). LT -. SLM 137. Very rare. Good fine.
