CARTHAGE. Third Punic War. Circa 149-146 BC. Double Shekel (Billon, 25 mm, 13.23 g, 1 h), serrated edge. Head of Tanit to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, pendant earring and elaborate necklace. Rev. Horse standing right, raising left foreleg; above, pellet. Jenkins & Lewis pl. 28, 14 var. (pellet below foreleg). MAA 100a. SNG Copenhagen 405 var. (pellet-in-crescent below). Visonà, Serrated 136-7. Well struck and unusually attractive for this difficult issue. Light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
