CRUSADERS. Antioch. Tancred, regent, 1101-1112. Follis (Bronze, 22 mm, 3.35 g, 1 h), brockage mint error. ΚΕ ΒΟ TANKPI Cuirassed bust of Tancred facing, wearing turban with cross and holding sword in his right hand. Rev. incuse of obverse. Cf. Metcalf, Crusades, 65, MPS 4a, Porteous 17, Wäckerlin 85 ff. (for prototype). Very rare as a brockage mint error. Thick deposits, otherwise, about very fine.
