★ A very rare medallion of Marcus Aurelius from Orthosia ★

CARIA. Orthosia. Marcus Aurelius, 161-180. Medallion (Orichalcum, 39 mm, 35.46 g, 12 h). ΑΥΤOΚ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥ ΑΝ[ΤΩΝЄΙΝ] Laureate head of Marcus Aurelius to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. [ΟΡΘ]ΩϹΙЄΩ/Ν The Dioskouroi, nude, standing facing between two horses, each holding chlamys and spear. RPC IV.2 online 2734.4 ( this coin ). Very rare. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, good fine.
