KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.73 g, 7 h), uncertain mint in the East, circa 325-300. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞAN[ΔPOY] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; below throne, monogram. Müller 1623. Price 4009. Very rare. Struck slightly off center and with minor porosity, otherwise, very fine.
