KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.22 g, 2 h), Miletos, struck under Asandros, circa 323-319. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right. Price 2109 corr. (differing monogram in left field). A beautiful piece of fine style. Light graffito on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
