CELTIC, Lower Danube. Uncertain tribe. 3rd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 13.83 g, 12 h), imitating an issue of Philip II of Macedon from Amphipolis. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, branch; below foreleg, Π. Dembski 974 var. (differing letter in field). Flesche -. Lanz -. OTA 14. Preda pl. 2, 11 var. (no letter in field). Very fine.
