★ Extremely rare and nicely toned ★

CELTIC, Carpathian region. Uncertain tribe. Circa 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 2.00 g, 11 h), 'Herakleskopf' type. Highly degraded head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Celticized horse with two additional forelegs prancing left; above, fibula-like ornament in dotted border; before, lyra-shaped ornament. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz -. OTA 266/1. Preda pl. 63, 5. Extremely rare and nicely toned. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and with light scratches, otherwise, very fine.
