Description

Second Intermediate Period, c. 1650-1550 B.C. Steatite scarab (20x13mm). Base engraved with a human figure standing in front of something (divine symbol?), flanked by two Uraei (Royal cobras). Light chip at base otherwise intact, once glazed, pierced for mounting. Cf. Niccacci 168. From the Freemark Collection (1882-1966), Elmore, Ohio.
