A Breast Star of the Order 83 mm, with chiselled and pierced star; gold cross of the Order with chiselled borders, bright red enamel and gold letters, also
enriched by fine chisel-work; the reverse, with bent pins retaining the centre, broad pin (French mark) and two hooks; in the original, black morocco case
of issue, with gold-printed mark of Halley, Paris.
A beautiful piece of the best French manufacture, dating to ca. 1855-60. Extremely fine condition and patina.
