A Cross of the Order with Brilliants in GOLD, 70x40 mm, white-bordered, blue enameled cross with
lozenges between the arms enameled with the colours of Bavaria; white enameled obverse centre
medallion with applied, “T” monogram set with brilliants; white enamelled reverse medallion with
the year “1827” surrounded by the Order’s motto: “UNSER ERDLEBEN SEY: GLAUBE AN DAS EWIGE”
(Our life on the Earth must be: Faith in the Eternal); with original ladies’ bow-ribbon and a length
of original, ladies’ sash ribbon. Together a “carte de visite” photographic portrait of Baroness Vecsey.
A very rare badge of the special division that, although not statutorily, was awarded to noble
ladies as a special grace of the Bavarian Queen; very fine condition.
This Order, instituted in 1827, had as a mission, the assistance of not yet married noble ladies,
from impoverished families, granting a special pension of 300 Florins per year from the “Schatulle”
of the Bavarian Queen, until their marriage. Meritorious foreign noble ladies could receive the
special grade with jewelled monogram (without any pension). With 21 diamonds for a total of 0.058 ct. very rare and superb! I RR!
